Australia is officially one month into autumn but I didn’t begin to feel it until a week ago.
After all, the days are still warm (except 26C of April is balmier than 26C of December), breezy summer dresses are not out of circulation, and I haven’t started drinking a hot beverage every morning just yet.
But change is definitely in the air – for one, I’m rising before the sun is up, daylight savings is officially ending this Sunday (yay!), and evenings are infused with a beautiful promise of winter.
And the biggest hint is the falling leaves – mellow, flaming, ochre, aimless, free spirited.
So here’s my initial welcome to autumn – a miscellany of pictures (high-res and low – but who cares!) that remind me to be thankful for a world where autumns are still pretty special.
